[Anyone who's met Jacobi for more than fifteen seconds would be forgiven in thinking that this isn't Jacobi. This isn't the same man who packed explosives gleefully while being a sarcastic brat all at the same time. But Jacobi knows this. He knows what this is. So he's cheerful in a way that he had to once be literally programmed into.]

Hey guys! This isn't so bad, right? We're definitely going to be alright, aren't we? I mean! At least we have some food and water and a place to sleep! That's progress and something we can look forward to! We just need to work together and keep our chins up, right?

[It's easy to play the part when he isn't actually with anyone else. But Jacobi is frayed at the edges, and he knows that this won't last. There's even a time when he wishes for the regulator again. The very thing that had taken his freedom from him. And those times are when he paces his room like a caged tiger.

And that room is as much his prison as he makes it. Jacobi doesn't leave his room except when forced to work or forced to sing or forced to be social. He will take visitors, but he won't be pleasant to be around. He knows he can't graduate that way, but it just feels so good to be angry. Especially at first.]

My assistant would like a whole lot more than just that. Can't seem to find folks who agree on what the rules of the place really are.

I do better with itemized lists, myself.

If only this place were anythin' like the Barge, I know I'd at least be a quarter more comfortable. [At least they'd have doors.]

You gonna bother tryin' to graduate this place? [It was crap; Jacobi had just graduated. It wasn't fair for any of them caught here.]

[He bobs his head, the gesture seemingly lead by his eyebrow.]

That's fair enough. On both counts.

Anyway, I just- With everythin', I wanted to check in. I'll probably come to you later when I got somethin' more solid than a half baked ideas. If you need back up in something.. [He can't offer much, but he can offer that. He also knew how overwhelming this was and he wasn't overly eager to linger or bother Jacobi right now.]

[His brow furrows in question, but he steps forward and peers at the rocks. It didn't matter what they were, flint or not - Raylan trusted Jacobi to be true to his word about pyromatters.

His eyebrows raised at the show, eyes widening a little in a distinct airs of hope.]

That could be a hellva distraction. If we get somethin' worth the risk. Those books are good fuel. Normally I wouldn't be in the 'let's do a book burnin' camp, but desperate times..

Don't let them take those from ya. We're gonna have a use for 'em soon enough if I got any say. [Hell would freeze over before Raylan broke, before he gave up, before he stopped caring about getting himself and the friends he'd found out with him.]

[There were no stupid questions - if Jacobi had extra, spreading it out made it less likely to be confiscated and the man wouldn't offer if he wasn't serious about it. The nodules are taken, tucked into his pocket, into the line of his hip where there was extra space naturally that would help cover it.

He might be The Law, but he wasn't above doing a crime, as much as it was categorized here.]

We're gettin' the fork outta here, Jacobi. Come Hell or high water. [He wasn't afraid to die on this hill either.]

[He nods back.]

I do indeed. See ya around, Jacobi. [With that, he'd nod his head, a little less Flair without his hat on, but enough to send him on his way.]
