[Anyone who's met Jacobi for more than fifteen seconds would be forgiven in thinking that this isn't Jacobi. This isn't the same man who packed explosives gleefully while being a sarcastic brat all at the same time. But Jacobi knows this. He knows what this is. So he's cheerful in a way that he had to once be literally programmed into.]
Hey guys! This isn't so bad, right? We're definitely going to be alright, aren't we? I mean! At least we have some food and water and a place to sleep! That's progress and something we can look forward to! We just need to work together and keep our chins up, right?
[Spam]
[It's easy to play the part when he isn't actually with anyone else. But Jacobi is frayed at the edges, and he knows that this won't last. There's even a time when he wishes for the regulator again. The very thing that had taken his freedom from him. And those times are when he paces his room like a caged tiger.
And that room is as much his prison as he makes it. Jacobi doesn't leave his room except when forced to work or forced to sing or forced to be social. He will take visitors, but he won't be pleasant to be around. He knows he can't graduate that way, but it just feels so good to be angry. Especially at first.]

These fraking curtains. Raylan hated them already. Nothing to knock on, no real privacy.]
Jacobi? [He'd amble down a few doors before trying it again.] Marco? [He'd wait to see if he got a Polo in return.]
Where are you at?

Fudging bullshorts, this.]
I'm here.
[He doesn't get up and doesn't answer Polo. He's not in the mood for games. Or fun. Or frivolities. He's lying on his back on his bed, a plastic chess piece in his hands that looks suspiciously like one from the common area. He tosses it up like a baseball and catches it on the way down.]

Nah, man. Just keep your eyes on the goal! It'll be fine.

So he does make an effort to go out of his way and check on the super angry fella, when he sees the human hasn't come out in a few hours. He just peeks his head around the corner, ears telegraphing his existence like a giant beacon.]
You're one a' them new guys, ain't ya?

Um, hi there Mr. New Guy! I was just coming to bother you cause we've got the storytime coming up soon and I know you're way too grown-up for that sort of thing but the Nurse really likes it if you show up sooooo I thought I should probably just tell you about it?
Re: spam

That's the spirit, Mr. Jacobi. Keep it up and you'll become an assistant in no time.

So after a day or two, he swings by intentionally, and brings Libby, Steve's fluffy and friendly golden retriever-husky mix (well, they guess, anyway; she's not from Earth technically). He raps gently on the wall beside the door.
Re: Spam
It's not really a question.
"How's it going?" B has always just been the guard in the room with Connor - nothing more, nothing less. As time has gone on, any residual feelings he has have faded into neutrality.

[Fitz is making an attempt. There is a path out, and one he has a slightly easier time believing in, but he's just not the best at 'cheerful'.]
