The main common room has been transformed into party central!!!

There's streamers and balloons and tons of fun and games. Haruka, Luigi, and Duck have made sure that there's a little something for everyone.

There's a food table with all kinds of snacks and candy as well as pizza with every combination of toppings you could ask for.

There's dance games out with their mats on the floor for fun and friendly competitions, and a sign that says there's a scavenger hunt for anyone interested. There's also a bunch of machines, almost like a margarita bar (but of course not!) that offer all kinds of milkshakes and slushies for anyone who'd want one. Fun, happy, upbeat pop music with bubblegum lyrics is playing just loud enough to be fun but not to give anyone a headache.

Haruka had made sure that the kitchen staff knew they wouldn't need to make dinner tonight, and they were using all paper cups and plates so no clean up! Everyone could have fun tonight!

"We just wanted to welcome you all to the Clipper! So enjoy the snacks, and have fun!"

She looks a little winded from getting everything set up, but there's still a smile on her face and she's rather proud of getting this all put together. If you want to chat with her, feel free to come by.

Kyoko doesn't want to talk. She absolutely doesn't want to talk. She does not want to be here. But there's pizza. And she wants pizza. So Kyoko's munching on some of the pizza when she notices one of the dance games.

Oh hell yes.

She looks around before walking over to Haruka. "Oi. Any special things I need to know about the dance games?"

“Hi! Hi!” Mikodez has carefully balanced the fact that his ‘meal’ consisted solely of candy with a slushy. Which, admittedly, doesn’t make him that much more hyper than usual but will probably have a worse crash. But, right now, he’s just in high spirits as he hops around in what might be an attempt at dancing to the background pop song.

His accent is atrocious and he's apologised for it previously, but there's no regret in the way he takes a big flying leap to land on her back, light as a sweater to drape his arms across her shoulders in a warm hug.

"You guys did an amazing job! The new folks oughta love it!"

Luigi

Luigi, dressed in his comfy black hoodie and jeans, does a final sweep of the room but everything seems perfect. Perks of just following Haruka's lead.

But he is in everyone's business, making sure they have everything they need. He tries out the games and manages to do very well despite having a chocolate milkshake in his hand.

And he's always going to be offering pizza. Because that was his biggest contribution and he wants to see everyone enjoying themselves.

Oswald is enjoying the games a lot; and even though his feet seem like they ought to be way too big for the dance pads, he's doing a pretty admirable job keeping up a streak.

He might be gunning to break Luigi's high score. What, he's competitive!

PETRONILLA TIME

Halfway through the lovely little shindig for the new arrivals, in strolls Petronilla de Vilers. Any pretense of sanity is completely gone; her wimple's been abandoned, hair wild about her face, kirtle ripped and torn and clearly worn over and over again.

Worst - or perhaps most concerning - is the look on her face. Her eyes are narrow, darting side-to-side but also somehow unfocused. It's as though she's looking for someone, but isn't quite in the same world as everyone else.

Steve recognizes Petronilla immediately, and he does not like the look on her face.

He's not happy to be here, either, but he suddenly gets a sinking feeling in his stomach even as he makes his way over to her, reaching out to gently touch her arm. The worst she can do, he figures, is smack him. Even with no serum, he can take a hit.

"Hey," he says, gently. He would say it's all right, but mostly this ship kind of isn't. "Fancy seeing you here," is what he goes with instead, trying for a little levity.

Free Hugs (and other things)

Baymax is warm and shaped like a friend. For anyone who's anxious in large crowds, he has "hot" cocoa (more like fairly warm cocoa)! There's also a variety of security blankets, as well as a set of soundproof earbuds - for listening to the soothing music that he'll be playing the entire time.

Sometimes, he will randomly approach anyone who seems tense, or looks as though they're ready to book it. He will offer cocoa, warm milk, soft blankets, or a warm hug.

Steve is definitely tense, though certainly not the tensest person in the room. Still, he probably seems uncomfortable enough to warrant mild concern.

He blinks at the blanket that appears in front of him, then blinks up at Baymax in turn. "Oh. Is this for me?"

It really does seem like a very nice blanket.

Mikodez can't be called anxious in a crowd, and he has been known to consider being hugged as standing still for too long. On the other hand, giving hugs is totally different, and he's willing to turn accidentally almost running into Baymax into a definitely on purpose attempt at trying to get his arms around at least an arm.

Iris is both tense and ready to book it, but she can smell red wine and that's an improvement on the bag of toilet wine she brought with her. Besides, it's hard not to find an enormous inflatable robot interesting, even in the middle of this terrible time.

"So where did you come from, big feller? And is there actual wine or am I hallucinating?"

He takes one look at the main common room...

... Annnnnnd, nope, he's out. Cloud will try to leave quickly, in hopes of nobody seeing him, but he's also not going to go all covert operation (stealth to the extreme!!!) with it. Someone's welcome to coax him back in.

...but Haruka is going to trot over, seeing his clear discomfort, and try to help!

Sephiroth is right behind Cloud, so leaving won't be easy. Not that Sephiroth is really attempting to keep him there but he's pretty massive and kind of in the way.

... He does kind of agree with Cloud's sentiment of this party though.

"We should see who shows up."

Zack would be attracted to this sort of thing.

Garion Irongrip

Garion's at the party, enjoying the milkshakes as much as the pizza. What? They're tasty. He's not going to complain about that. The games, though, that he's avoiding.

Alfredo hadn't planned on coming to party at all - though unless the Nurse really makes an effort, he'll be helping to clean up later - but not having to worry about who has to or is allowed to cook is nice.

The boy is winding a streamer around a milkshake cup - carefully; it is still full - but he's paying attention to those walking by.

"... The food's all right, then?" he asks quietly, once Garion comes his way.

"I haven't gotten a plate for myself yet, though someone's already offered me this."

It looks distinctly chocolate-y. And possibly a bit cherry.

B loiters by the milkshake machine, mostly, because he loves a good milkshake and he could stand the calories. He tries a handful of flavors on offer, and decides pretty quickly that this is much better than an actual booze bar, thanks. Occasionally he'll stick a second straw in it and tilt it Steve's way, when the guy is nearby.

He does keep giving the dance games a disappointed look. That absolutely doesn't count as dancing. It's got no real rhythm to it, nobody does it with feeling, just to try and hit the score.

"If anybody wants real dancing," he comments, "I'd show 'em around the Lindy."

Garion notices the disdain for the games, because if he didn't know how to catch disdain at a party his political life would have been exponentially more difficult, and he huffs a laugh as he works on his milkshake.

"Glad not to be the only one," he notes, "though I know Haruka tries her best. I'm curious what a 'lindy' is, though."

Steve Rogers

Steve is not really a party person, but he's here nonetheless (probably mostly because B is, with maybe a dash of still trying to get the lay of the land, social structure-wise, thrown in), with a few slices of pizza on his plate and a singular milkshake he's working on slowly, like it's second nature to savor it and make it last as long as possible, even if it melts in the meantime.

He largely sticks to the periphery, though, watching people playing games (dancing or otherwise) but not joining. He doesn't look completely unapproachable, just very much like someone whose comfort zone rests squarely in wallflower territory.

Mikodez

Mikodez likes parties, he especially likes parties on the Clipper where he has access to large amounts of sugar. The sweeter the taste, the more he's likely to enjoy it, something he'd discovered soon after he'd arrived in a place that doesn't follow his parents nutritional guidelines.

The amount of sugar in his system doesn't change his favorite activities, which include popping up behind people totally not on purpose, and zeroing in on any game with an intense focus. Scavenger hunts are fun for all and once he gets his hands on a racing video game it is hard to make him stop.

But he also has his private game of trying to meet as many of the new people as he can, so he generally has a cheerful, or at least intense, smile for them.

Malcolm Bright

Malcolm is aware that, as an Assistant, it’s likely that nobody will be terribly interested in socializing with him, but how is that different than the life he left behind? He thinks it’s important to build a rapport with the patients. To show face on behalf of the staff. To represent the program.

Makima

[ She's at the party, with a milkshake that she sips at rather adorably. Mostly, though, she's here to supervise and get to know people. She hasn't been out much the last few days other than the required duties for reasons she won't explain and is happy to obfuscate but she's ready to socialize now.

Raylan

A party? Ugh. There was no way to avoid it as it was in the common room and Raylan was trying to prove Malcolm wrong about some of the assertions that he'd made. Raylan was perfectly adjusted and fully capable of engaging without it turning into a fight.

The only things he was interested in was pizza and the largest vanilla milkshake they would let him have. It wasn't quite vanilla ice cream, but he could sit and enjoy exactly one (1) thing for the first time in over a week.

He should say thank you. He's not going to. He's also not going to involve himself in other activities, but he'll sit and watch, going back for seconds on both his treats, with not much more than a lift of his chin in recognition to faces he knows when eye contact is made. The rest of you? Are just being watched. The good news was that Raylan had many years of practice blending into the background while he people watched, so it shouldn't be too intense.

Mikodez is something of a people watcher, and generally doesn't have any interest in trying to hide that. After all, he's usually watching them to see if they'll do anything that he might find fun, and it can be easier if they're already aware of his presence. A thing observed can be more interesting.

"Hi!" His lips are a little blue from the slushies. "I'm Mikodez. Do you like racing games?"
